Tyco Electronics - Our commitment. Your advantage.

Foundation Vision

The Tyco Electronics Foundation is dedicated to fostering a society which enhances the quality of life and in which all people can participate. We believe this is made possible through a broad range of the highest quality educational opportunities.

Focus

The Tyco Electronics Foundation provides grants to U.S. organizations that qualify as nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The grants are awarded in geographic areas where Tyco Electronics has a significant employee population and for projects that are consistent with corporate objectives. Requests should be for specific projects or programs in the following categories.

Education

The Foundation makes direct grants for programs that address a business or community concern of Tyco Electronics. Organizations that support pre-college math and science education receive special attention. The Foundation will not provide funds for administrative or overhead expenses related to Foundation-funded research.

Community Impact

Local United Way chapters benefit from donations that have a correlation to the level of employee giving. In addition, the Foundation gives to organizations where employees demonstrate a commitment by volunteering their time.

Application Guidelines

The Tyco Electronics Foundation accepts applications throughout the year and makes funding decisions on a quarterly basis. Requests will be considered in the following quarter if received by December 15, March 15, June 15 or September 15. Requests receive preferential review if the organization is one that Tyco Electronics employees support as volunteers. Requests from organizations within the Tyco Electronics Foundation's focus will be considered unless the following apply.

The Tyco Electronics Foundation generally will not support:

  • Organizations in geographic areas where Tyco Electronics has few or no employees.
  • Individuals, private foundations, national organizations, service clubs, fraternal, social and labor or trade organizations.
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, physical or mental conditions, veteran or marital status, age or sex.
  • Churches or religious organizations, with the exception of nondenominational programs sponsored by a church or religious group such as a food bank, youth center or non-sectarian education programs.
  • Political campaigns.
  • Loans or investments, or programs that pose a potential conflict of interest.
Grant recipients must submit a final report which evaluates the results of the funded project.
